7th Annual Paper Fashion Show

2nd Place: Pretty Good 76

The 2011 Paper Fashion Show, presented by Art Directors Club of Denver, took the limelight last Thursday with dazzling dresses yet again. It's worth noting that all of these high-fashion dresses are made from paper. That's right, PAPER!

Kudos and champagne toasts to this year's winning and worthy designers. The models should be applauded for their grace, too. Must be tough doing a runway walk with the threat of paper cuts! Though we didn't quite make it this year, we'd love to enter next year. Fame and glory included.

FCMOA Featured Mask

Head down to the Fort Collins Museum of Art on April 1st for a First Friday peek at the Masks exhibit and silent auction. While you're there, you can check out Bas Bleu Theater's mask (featuring Toolbox's illustration + design) and a collection of other talented artists' pieces. Fingers crossed in hopes to see a J. Biebs mask – No April Fool's.

Brooklyn's Recycled and Reinvented Marketplace

Dekalb Brooklyn Container

This is an absolutely incredible step in the right direction. Urban Space is transforming the street markets in Brooklyn by reusing old shipping containers and converting them to small storefronts/kiosks for art, food, fun and anything imaginable in between. They're hosting a contest to implement design that goes beyond the box and showcase each shelter as more than just a container.
